Located in Central Pennsylvania near State College and Altoona, Camp Blue Diamond is a year round Christian camp and retreat center affiliated with the Middle PA District of the Church of the Brethren. Located within Rothrock State Forest, CBD is 238 acres of hemlock, pine and oak forest, with a clean & clear stream fed lake running through the center of the property.
In June and July CBD offers 18 coed residential and adventure camps for youth ages 5 - 18 and adults. In August there's Family Camp too. To see the Summer 2015 Schedule go to the Summer Camp page. In August, CBD hosts the two week long Centre County Law Enforcement's Camp Cadet program. This camp is open to Junior High youth ages 12-15. The first week is open to girls and the second to boys. At Camp Cadet, campers learn about law enforcement and experience a wide variety of related activities. During April, May, September and October, Camp Blue Diamond is the home of Shaver's Creek Outdoor School, an environmental and experiential education program of Penn State University. Each week about fifty to seventy upper elementary age students learn about Pennsylvania wildlife, history and how to protect the environment. Camp Blue Diamond has a wide variety of modern Lodges, cabins, pavilions and a fifty site RV & tent campground available to family, church, school and not-for-profit groups for rental throughout the year. Camp Blue Diamond is a restful, Christian retreat center that can accommodate up to 150 guests. Alcoholic beverages, smoking, use of tobacco products, and motorized recreational vehicles (ATV's, Jet Skis) are not permitted. Pets are allowed only in the RV campground - not in the Cabin, Lodge or Beach areas. Firearms are only allowed by licensed hunters during hunting season, and must be locked inside vehicles when on the property. Hunting is not allowed on camp property.
New for 2015, CBD will be having a Hoss Community Night Fundraiser on Sunday, June 7th at the State College, Huntingdon, Lewistown, Duncansville & Bedford Restaurants. When your family enjoys lunch or dinner at one of the participating Hoss's, 20% of the proceeds will be given to camp. To participate simply go to your favorite Hoss's listed above and when you order hand a Hoss Community Night Ticket to the cashier. Tickets will be available from your church's Camp Rep., or Contact CBD and we'll you mail you some. Better yet, print off your own CBD Hoss Community Night Email Ticket - It works too!
Camp Blue Diamond is a member of the Church of the Brethren's Outdoor Ministries Association and is fully accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA).
