Grades: 7 - 12, and adults

Bike & Raft Adventure will travel on the Great Allegheny Passage Trail from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, MD. This 150 mile trail follows old railway beds that are well maintained and easy to ride on. The trail will travel through tunnels, over reconditioned railway bridges and along the Youghiogheny and Cassel Rivers. Along the way you'll stop in Ohiopyle to enjoy the natural waterslides, Cucumber Falls and raft class I, II & III rapids on the Youghiogheny River. We’ll ride over the eastern continental divide, and stop at the Meyersdale railroad museum and the Cumberland canal museum.

Bikers will average 30 miles a day and tent in campgrounds. You will need to provide your own Mountain or  Crossover bike for the trip. A support vehicle will travel along to help with tired cyclists and repairs. This camp begins Sunday at 2 p.m. and ends Friday at 7 p.m.

Bike & Raft Adventure is a joint effort by Camp Blue Diamond and Camp Harmony, a Church of the Brethren camp in Western PA. Dean Wenger from Camp Blue Diamond is the Trip Leader for Bike Camp, and Barron Deffinbaugh from Camp Harmony is the Bible Study Leader and drives the support vehicle.
