Rising Sun & Lakeside Cabins Rising Sun Cabin

Located on the lake, Rising Sun and Lakeside are CBD's "Beach Houses in the Woods". Both cabins have three bedrooms, a living/dining room, kitchen, two bathrooms, a loft, central heat and air conditioning, and a TV w/VCR/DVD.  They are handicapped accessible.  The living/dining room and the balcony meeting area are outfitted with couches and chairs, a great space for meetings, Bible studies, or just visiting. The large size of the combined living/dining area, also makes it suitable for quilting and scrapbooking groups. The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffeemaker, dishes and pots and pans, making it ideal for family vacations and church groups.

 

The living/dining area of Rising SunThere are 6 sets of bunk beds in each cabin, with 3 of the bottom beds being doubles. This allows for a maximum of 15 guests in each cabin. Two bedrooms in each cabin are on the first floor and are handicapped accessible. The handicapped accessible bathroom is located on the first floor between these bedrooms. The third bedroom is located upstairs, along with a full bathroom and the balcony meeting area.

Outside each cabins is a picnic table and fire ring. The fire ring has a grill for charcoal or wood cooking. Parking is available next to the cabins. Each cabin has a ramp.

Lakeside & Rising Sun are located within easy walking distance to the beach. Canoeing (April - Oct.) and swimming (May - Sept.) are available to adult or family groups at no charge. There is a lifeguard fee of $10/hour for groups with minors wishing to use the lake. The lifeguard fee does not apply to family groups, when parents provide supervision.

Smaller groups of 6-15 can rent either cabin. Larger groups of12-24 can rent both cabins together. Groups smaller than the required minimums can rent the cabins, however minimum fees still apply. Lakeside and Rising Sun require a two night stay, but the two night minimum may be waived for larger groups or special circumstances, contact camp for details. Rates are posted at the bottom of this page. Smoking, Alcoholic beverages and Pets are not allowed.

Hemlock LodgeHemlock Cabin sleeps 16 and is near the Main Lodge

Hemlock is a cozy winterized Lodge that can accommodate up to 18 people in its four sleeping rooms. Each sleeping room also has a double bed, so that couples and families can be more comfortable. There are two small restrooms each with a shower, and a central meeting room with kitchenette and a fireplace. This building is located about 100 yds. from the Main Lodge, so larger groups of at least 26 can conveniently rent both buildings.

Groups renting Hemlock by itself pay Hemlock rates and prepare their own meals. Groups renting Hemlock or the Ouch House with the Main Lodge pay Main Lodge rates and take their meals in the Main Lodge. Hemlock is used as staff housing during the summer camp season, and is unavailable for rental in June, July and early August. Rates are posted at the bottom of the page.

There are four bedrooms in Hemlock.

The Ouch House can be rented with either the Main Lodge or HemlockOuch House
Between the Main Lodge and Hemlock is the Ouch House, which serves as the nurses cabin in the summer. It can be rented by groups using either the Lodge or Hemlock. It does not have kitchen facilities, so it cannot be rented by itself. Groups renting the Ouch House with Hemlock pay Hemlock rates. Groups renting the Ouch House with the Main Lodge pay Main Lodge rates. The building has three bedrooms with beds for five, and a full bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed. The Ouch House is a very practical space for guests that need private space (guest speakers, leaders, families with babies, etc...).

Recreational Options Swimming, Canoeing and Fishing are available to all groups 
Rental groups using the Main Lodge, Hemlock or the Ouch House have access to a basketball/volleyball court, four square diamond, and an eighteen hole (tree) disc golf course at no additional fee.

All rental groups have access to swimming, canoeing, fishing, beach volleyball, the Climbing Tower, Giant Swing, and the Initiatives Course. Fees apply for some activities. Camp Blue Diamond is surrounded on all sides by a state forest, which provides many hiking, mountain biking and hunting opportunities. 

Only hunting groups may have firearms. Firearms must be locked in vehicles while on camp property. Hunting is not allowed on camp property.

 

Recreational Fees: 
Swimming (May-Sept), Canoeing (Apr-Oct):
$10/hour (No charge for small cabin family groups)

Larger groups may require two lifeguards, $20/hour


Initiatives (Group Building) Course: Facilitator Led $5/person, minimum $40
Self Led $25/group <20, $50/group >20

Climbing tower and Zip Line:
$15/Person, mimimum 8 participants. Groups using the tower, must notify Camp Blue Diamond at least one month prior.

No charge: Basketball, Volleyball, Fishing, Hiking, Skating, Sledding, Disc Golf, etc...

Prohibited:
Camp Blue Diamond is a restful, family friendly retreat center. Alcoholic beverages, smoking and motorized recreational vehicles (ATV's, Jet Skis), firearms (see details above) are not permitted. Golf Carts are only permitted for handicapped guests, and can only be driven by those licensed to drive an automobile. Rental Groups may not have Pets.  Pets are allowed in the RV Campground.

Reservations:
When reserving a facility, a deposit is due within 2 weeks. Groups with less than the minimum number of people are welcome, but deposits and minimum daily fees still apply. Camp Facilities are not available for rental Easter weekend, Thanksgiving weekend, the last two weeks of December and the first week of January.

Ouch House can only be rented with Hemlock or Main Lodge.

Groups prepare own meals, unless also using Main Lodge.

Rates are per person, per day (maximum 24 hour period), with a daily minimum applying.
Rising Sun & Lakeside's deposit reflects a two night minimum stay.
Typical Check-in time is 5 p.m.
