Maintenance Building/Roofing Project Update:
Volunteers and staff are working on the New Maintenance Shop and other projects on Wednesdays. The shop is behind the old one, hidden back in the woods. Once it is finished the plan is for the office to expand from its corner of the old shop building and take over the entire building. This is the final project from the Capital Campaign done between 2001 and 2005. The Capital Campaign has also replaced the Lakeside and Rising Sun Cabins, replaced the RV Campground sewage and built a new Staff Duplex.

Funds for the new Shop have been raised and set aside. The foundation, walls, roof and siding are done. Currently inside finish work is being done.

Volunteers are invited to come help camp staff on Wednesdays in the Spring, Summer and Fall. If you have a crew that can come on a Wednesday, call (814) 667-2355 or contact CBD. Lunch is provided! Get here early enough and we’ll find you some breakfast too!

Other maintenance projects for 2017 included renovations of the bathrooms in the Hemlock cabin, cutting up fallen trees from storms, shingling the roofs of summer camp cabins, putting siding on Bearview Cabin, putting a porch over the back exit of the Main Lodge, and building a wall around the generator.
