'Upon This Firm Foundation' Capital Campaign Work Begins!

The first project of the 'Upon This Firm Foundation' Capital Campaign is the replacement of the water and electricity lines in the Family Campground. To date $580,000 of the $650,000 campaign goal has been pledged and $200,000 has been given, so excavating and replacement of the lines began in early March. It is CBD's goal to have this work completed in May, so that the campground can open for guests on May 11th (or at the latest May 18th). The project is being done by Kish Electric of Belleville.

On Wednesdays in the spring, summer and fall, volunteers are invited to come to camp. Projects for this spring include replacing the flake board in the Lodge phone room and Ouch Houch back porch, finishing the siding on the Bearview Cabin and helping where needed with the campground project. If you have a crew that can come on a Wednesday, call (814) 667-2355 or contact CBD. Lunch is provided! Get here early enough and we’ll find you some breakfast too!

We appreciate our volunteers and the projects they accomplished in 2017. Projects included renovations of the bathrooms in the Hemlock cabin, cutting up fallen trees from storms, shingling the roofs of summer camp cabins, putting siding on Bearview Cabin, putting a porch over the back exit of the Main Lodge, and building a wall around the generator.
