Those in grades 3-5 are invited to the Junior Retreat for an awesome weekend at Camp with friends old and new. We will play games, sing camp songs, have Bible study, play outside, do a craft, and spend time with your favorite counselors and staff! Weather dependent we may even get to ride the giant swing!
Join us for another exciting Winter Retreat here at Camp Blue Diamond! We'll take a sneak peek at our new summer theme, "Another Way" to see how Jesus encourages us to reframe and refocus when we find ourselves facing conflict. Psalm 46 reminds us that God is always there for us if we are still and open to the guidance He's sending our way. Come along with us as we explore other ways of facing conflict!
Everyone is cordially invited to share in the ministry of Camp Blue Diamond by enjoying an amazing evening of delicious food, wonderful fellowship and fantastic entertainment. This is an annual fundraiser that helps maintain the affordable summer camp prices for all campers, as well as support the mission of Camp.
The menu will be fresh garden salad, stuffed pork chops, wild rice, roasted mixed vegetables, applesauce, dinner roll and texas sheet cake with ice cream.
Entertainment both nights will feature the Altoona Brass Collective. The Altoona Brass Collective was formed in 2017 by musicians in the central PA area, sharing a love of brass instruments, quality music, and live performance. All of ABC's repertoire has been written specifically for the ensemble. The band members have strong local ties, are school administrators, music educators, music advocates, music merchants, studio teachers, freelance performers, and business owners with a common goal: to bring high quality live music to central PA.
Tickets are $60 each and can be purchased through contacting Camp or the waiters from various district churches that are also selling tickets. See the flyer below for a list of waiters as well as more information and a paper form.
Herpetology is the study of Reptiles and Amphibians. Camp is no stranger to these “Crawling Animals” as our lake attracts numerous species of frogs, toads, salamanders, and turtles. In the woods around camp, you can expect to find similar species, and of course snakes! While many folks think these creatures are slimy and gross (a few of them are a little slimy), they are still an incredible part of God’s Creation! Join us for an overnight retreat as we search for and learn more about these fascinating creatures!
The retreat will begin at 7 PM on Friday and conclude by 11 AM on Saturday. Cost is $40 and includes overnight lodging, a Snack on Friday Evening, and Brunch Saturday Morning.
This event will go late into the evening on Friday, as many species we’ll be looking for are nocturnal. Clothes/Footwear that can get wet and muddy are STRONGLY recommended! Headlamps are recommended over handheld flashlights, and Camp has some available to borrow for the event!
Quilting and crafting are a lot like gardening. If things are sewn into the right places, beautiful images and patterns will emerge at the end of our hard work. As we craft, our brains feel less stress and more focus which keeps us healthy and growing. Please join us for a weekend of growth, fellowship, and fun at this year's Quilt and Craft Camp!
Whether you quilt, knit or crochet, scrapbook, paint, make jewelry, or whatever other crafty things you do, bring your projects with you and work on them over the weekend! There will also be time for an optional guided workshop on a specific project. Delicious food and lodging will be provided.
The retreat begins Friday at 7 pm (move in as early as 6 pm) We'll conclude Sunday at 1 pm. Cost for the full weekend is $100 or $60 for Saturday only.
Join us for our Spring Migration “Breakfast with the Birds” morning at Camp Blue Diamond. Gabe Imler will lead us around Camp looking for bird species that are passing through Rothrock State Forest. The bird walk will begin on May 10th at 7 AM with a bird-themed breakfast to follow. Cost is $20 per Person
Back by popular demand, come down the night before for a night hike! Gabe will lead a night hike filled with all sorts of nighttime programing with a snack to follow. Lodging will be provided, so you can stay and join us for the walk the next morning! Cost for both Friday and Saturday is $40 per Person
All ages and skill levels welcome! Feel free to bring your own binoculars and field guides
